General Information
Catchment area
We offer our IT system house services throughout southern Germany. Our focus is on the areas around Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Stuttgart, Tübingen, Nuremberg and Munich and therefore currently primarily customers from Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.
We offer our consulting services nationwide as well as in Austria and Switzerland.
Hourly rates
Subject to future price adjustments or individual agreements, we offer our system house services for SMEs, government authorities and schools for an hourly rate of €110.00 net during regular working days and times (Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
We calculate the effort per half hour started at the end of each calendar month with hourly lists and detailed descriptions. There is a monthly minimum purchase of 1 work day (8h) / €880 net for services.
Expect cost efficiency. Our hourly rate is certainly not the cheapest on the market, but we often manage to reduce overall IT costs over the long term or to increase performance and quality over the same budget significantly. In addition to effective work, a high degree of automation, open source and independence help us to do so.
If – by previous consent, quality guaranteed – apprentices can take on work on site, we will invoice this at a reduced hourly rate of €47.50 net. Typical tasks for apprentices are for example setting network sockets, cable tests, inventories or the like.
Our consulting services have different hourly rates, but these are generally not so relevant for small and medium-sized environments and more in demand in the enterprise segment.
Calculable costs
After an initial consultation and getting to know each other, we can offer flat-rate fixed prices for changeover projects and migrations, in particular with the aim of establishing a long-term customer relationship. This way we bear the risk of unexpected problems and make the cost of changing calculable for you.
In general, we are happy to coordinate any foreseeable once-off expenses with you in advance. You can rest assured that we are interested in long-term customer relationships that are satisfactory for all parties involved and that we want to avoid any unpleasant financial surprises. We are happy to set a monthly hourly limit or budget, the foreseeable or actual exceeding of which should be discussed beforehand and/or must be approved by you.
Specifics
Of course, we offer service level agreements (SLA) with response times and regulations for failures and troubleshooting at night / at the weekend. A business impact analysis (BIA) helps to determine which measures should be taken in the event of failures and helps us to understand which processes are particularly important in your company as well as which IT systems are involved in them.
If work is required outside of regular hours, we will provide this by arrangement, usually with a surcharge which is to be negotiated (possibly within the framework of a service level agreement (SLA) as mentioned above). As a rule, a surcharge of 50% for Saturdays and 100% for night work between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. or on Sundays and public holidays is to be expected.
However, if it makes sense for the operational process and mutual agreement during changeovers and takeovers, we may be willing – especially after a system takeover with many migration tasks – to waive surcharges for work undertaken outside regular business hours. Here, too, we rely on communication with you.
Core values
Open technologies and standards. Independent advice.
We believe that you as a user should not be at anyone’s mercy and that transparency and respect for individual privacy are of the utmost importance. Furthermore, we are convinced that control over one’s own data should be a central goal of IT and migrations must always be possible. foundata relies on the strengths of open source, open standards and interoperability.
In doing so, we always aim to determine what you really need. Many other service providers sell solutions primarily to achieve partner margins and build product dependencies. IT should be tailored to your specific needs and goals – and not the other way around.
Agile is not a just buzzword to us. You have our word.
Our team has internalized agile values and principles. You can expect commitment, focus, openness, respect, and courage.
Automation and DevOps
IT environments have usually grown over time and are configured manually. Documentation (target) and current status (actual) sometimes differ considerably. This can lead to stagnation and critical failures may threaten.
It is therefore important to us that as much as possible is installed and configured automatically. DevOps and configuration management allow your system environment to be managed professionally:
- We describe the desired, technical target state of systems (declaration).
- Version management of this description ensures traceability and transparency.
- Tools such as Ansible and Powershell DSC implement the technical status description in a reproducible and repeatable manner.
The advantage of this approach: the longer configuration management and DevOps are in use, the better the state of your technology gets. Your current condition begins to approach the target condition instead of these drifting further apart over the lifetime of a system.
